S.K.I. Activities

In addition to pursuing our personal watersports interests, S.K.I. and its members support an active schedule of volunteer skiing related activities. Club members donate their time and use of their boats, serving as drivers, observers, starters, and  pickup personnel.

Eskimo Escapades

Eskimo Escapades is a charity event held each January in Knoxville, Tennessee at Volunteer Landing in the frigid, wintery air. The event supports The Dream Connection and The Patricia Neal Innovative Recreation Cooperative (PNIRC).

During the event, an average 100 participants that have collected donations, water ski, wakeboard, kneeboard, barefoot, tube or whatever, around a ½ mile course on Ft. Loudon Lake.

Adaptive Skiing Events

On one Saturday each month from June through September S.K.I. hosts an adaptive skiing day in conjunction with the Patricia Neal Innovative Recreation Cooperative.

On behalf of the grateful participants, S.K.I. thanks the Sequoyah Marina on Norris Lake for their support of Adaptive Skiing Events.

Amputees Coming Together

In addition to our monthly Adaptive Skiing Events, S.K.I. club members join together on one very special day during the summer so that a courageous number of children and adults can enjoy water sports that are not routinely available to them.

A tired but happy group at the end of the 2000 ACT Ski Day at Fontana Lake. Members of the University of Tennessee Ski Team typically join with S.K.I. in supporting this event.
